Week Of Outfits // Arbela Capas

We are back with another installment of the “Week Of Outfits” series (you can see the first one here)! Arbela Capas is a Cleveland-based freelance writer, photographer, and stylist whose portfolio includes personal essays, cultural commentaries, and fashion editorials. Her blog and Instagram are constant sources of inspiration, and I always look forward to seeing what creative projects she is working on. Her personal style is also on-point because she is so talented at putting together ensembles that balance quirky thrifted pieces with trusted basics. I think we can all learn from someone who has mastered looking stylish yet comfortable! I hope you enjoy this Week of Outfits. Take it away, Arbela…

Turtleneck: Vintage Pendleton
Jumpsuit: Depop (@wornraw), originally Uniqlo
Shoes: Nordstrom
Camel Coat: Thrifted, originally Fashionova

“Monday, I worked my office job, so I wanted to go with something simple but cozy to ease into the week! I decided to go with a simple jumpsuit I bought from Depop last year, which is perfect for layering on top of turtlenecks.”

Jumpsuit: Big Bud Press
Neck scarf: Gypsy Moth Vintage
Loafers: Thrifted

“I’ve been searching for the perfect winter transition day to break out my new jumpsuit, and this was definitely the day! I decided to add a pop of color with neck scarf I scored at the Cleveland Flea a couple of summers ago!”

Turtleneck: Vintage, RadNee
Jeans: Everlane
Boots: Nordstrom
Coat: Thrifted, originally Fashionova

“On Wednesday, I found myself wanting to revert to a simple outfit formula: comfy turtleneck and my trusty black jeans. You can’t ever go wrong with this combo.”

Blazer: Thrifted
Velvet pants: Thrifted
Turtleneck: Thrifted, The Gap
Necklace: Thrifted, Joan Rivers
Boots: Thrifted

“Thursdays are my designated errand running day/work from coffee shop day! So I always like to use it as an excuse to mix up my look since I have a bit more time. This week I decided to challenge myself and style up a pair of velvet pants and try out the double-coat look.”

Sweater: Depop (@essentialle)
Button up shirt: Thrifted
Dress pants: Thrifted
Boots: Nordstrom
Coat: Uniqlo

“I basically live in this cozy grey sweater during the winter because it’s so easy to mix and match. I decided to go with a Casual Friday meets cool professional work by layering my sweater (bought from one of my favorite Depop shops) with an olive green oversized button-up underneath. Also, I was in no mood to wear pants, so instead, I threw on my cozy legging dress pants.”

Sweater: Hand me down
Boots: Doc. Martens
Earrings: Vintage

“At this point, I had realized that a lot of my outfits had a lot of black in them, so I pushed myself to go on the brighter side with my color palette. I decided to pair this super comfy and trendy sweater I got years ago as a hand me down from a friend with these super cool khaki-colored jeans from I.F. Found Vintage. To finish the look, I added a belt from I.F. as well and some bold vintage earrings (just because).”

Sweater: Thrifted
Jeans: Thrifted, originally Zara
Boots: Nordstrom
Coat: Uniqlo

“I feel like this was a very “Sunday outfit.” White jeans paired with a funky patterned sweater might be my new favorite combo for any day of the week, though. These jeans were a recent steal from the Salvation Army, and this sweater is inspired by the dream Pamola Wool sweater I want, which I can’t afford just yet.”

Thank you so much, Arbela!
